Traditional lime plaster, rendering, and lime mortar for older buildings that need a breathable material.
Lime plaster and lime mortar have been used in building for centuries, and on an older structure they are usually the right call. Unlike Portland cement, which is brittle and needs control joints for expansion, lime flexes with small movements in the wall without cracking.
Lime also breathes. It lets a wall release moisture instead of trapping it, which cuts the damage that builds up behind harder, sealed-in materials. We use it to match the original finish on historic buildings, and on new work where an owner wants a material that lasts and ages well.
