Repair and in-kind replication of terra cotta units and carved stone details.
Terra cotta was made to imitate carved stone at a lower cost than granite or limestone, and a lot of older buildings around the metro carry it in their cornices and trim. Repairing or replacing those units is close work. We start by reading the condition of each one to decide whether it can be saved or has to be replaced.
Minor damage we patch with a compatible material. Where a unit is too far gone, we replace it with one matched to the original in shape, size, and appearance, and we keep up the cleaning, repointing, and coatings that keep the rest of the detail from getting there.
